The location is excellent, literally across the street from the railway station, and the staff were helpful. Downstairs there’s a small business centre with internet access. The attached restaurant looked good, though I didn’t try it, so I can’t say more. My room was compact, very clean, and comfortable, with a nice coffee maker and clever storage.

We had a lovely stay at Porter Square Hotel, and its location made everything convenient. Prisha Esthetician Salon is only a short walk away, so my wife could get a waxing and manicure during the trip. She tried threading for the first time there and had an awesome experience. The comfortable hotel and great nearby services made our visit even better. I’d recommend both!

I ended up cancelling my weeklong stay after a bad experience. The internet was very restricted and wouldn’t allow VPN connections, which was a major problem for me. The staff also seemed uninterested, weren’t friendly, showed no empathy, and didn’t try to help.

I can’t recommend this hotel if you expect to get work done. It blocks plenty of ordinary network traffic, including VPNs such as Wireguard, Mullvad, Tailscale, and iOS private relay, along with SSH and git. I don’t see a good reason for that. Tethering to my phone is possible, but that misses the point. I’ll update this if the situation changes. I don’t expect the front desk staff to solve a complicated networking problem, so I’m leaving this here for anyone looking for a place to stay.

I stayed for two nights while visiting my partner in Cambridge. The room was spacious for two, with a great view and a nice ambiance. The hotel had everything I needed.
