Econo Lodge Junction

We had two rooms booked through our company lodging app, but left without staying. After waiting in the lobby for almost 15 minutes and calling the front desk number several times, someone finally came out and gave me the key cards. Both rooms were filthy, smelled awful, and had disgusting carpets. We returned the cards and walked out. There were no refunds. We booked at the America's Best Value Inn instead. That little old motel was awesome, very clean, with great rooms and beds. The woman who checked us in was so nice. Econo Lodge is so bad it should be closed.

The staff were really friendly, and the room was very clean and spacious, with a good shower. I’m not sure I’d call it updated, but the blue and grey room had modern-looking flooring. At this price, a lot of places look like they haven’t changed since the 70s, so this was a nice change. Definitely the best place I’ve stayed at for this price.

I paid just under $50 before taxes, and the value was hard to beat. I stayed three nights and was very pleased. The staff were phenomenal and friendly, and they even saved an item I’d forgotten without me having to ask. My room was spotless and roomy, the bed was comfortable, breakfast was tasty, and the views were astounding. I didn’t use the amenities, so I can’t comment on those. Some reviews mentioned a moldy smell in the elevator, but there was no odor at all when I used it. They must have fixed it before my stay.

The service was rough from the start. Both this year and last year, we waited 20 minutes for someone to help at the front desk. When we finally got checked in, the rooms were dirty, as if nobody had cleaned them for two days. We’d booked one king bed, but got two queens instead, and there weren’t any towels. I called to ask for towels and, of course, nobody answered. Hours later, I called again and was told they’d be left at the front desk, but the doors were locked when we got there. The floors were filthy, like someone sprayed cleaner without actually cleaning. There was food in the gross, dirty fridge, yellow stains on the towels, and the bathroom ceiling was black and cracked, almost with a hole in it. We had one thin blanket, dirt in the bed, and pillows of different sizes and firmness. I don’t know if they changed the sheets. The wall outlet was exposed, with nothing covering it. We’ll never stay here again.
