Breakfast was a letdown, with very little variety, and the gym was tiny. The pool was also far too cold to enjoy. The water felt frigid and unusable for swimming in winter, especially for the price. Check-in started things off badly too, since the receptionist wasn’t welcoming, didn’t greet me, and said nothing about the hotel’s amenities.

Poolside rooms and friendly staff keep us coming back whenever we visit Grandforks ND. We always stay here. Just watch out for the "Judgemental Cow" in the breakfast area.

If you’re hoping for a restful stay and decent service, I’d go somewhere else. This place might suit you if you want to hang out and get drunk with college kids. We were stuck here because it was the only hotel available while moving our son for college, and paid over $500 for two nights at a 2 star hotel. We thought a room by the pool might be okay, but it wasn’t. The pool area stays open until 11 pm, and staff did nothing to monitor it or enforce the posted rules. Young men and women were drinking in the pool and hot tub, getting louder as the night went on. We called the front desk twice. They just said the pool closed at 11. On the second call we explained that we knew the closing time, but the party felt like it was in our room. The rules said no more than four people in the hot tub, yet there were 7+ in one. Signs said alcohol wasn’t allowed, but the kids were openly drinking bottles of beer. I told the night desk man, and he gave some lip service but did nothing.

The man who checked me in was pleasant, helpful, and nice. Room #103 looked clean at first, but I soon noticed it clearly hadn’t been vacuumed. The bed seemed fine when I checked it, but the next day my arms, elbows, and hands started itching. I found bug bites all over me. I called to let staff know, and they said the next guest had complained too, had been moved to a different room, and they were treating the room. I hope they’re treating more than that one room. No apology, nothing. I’m very unhappy and disgusted.
