Reverse Creek Lodge

We spent three days there in the last week of October, with beautiful fall color all around. The cabin was clean and comfortable, the kitchen and bathroom were well prepared, and the heater handled the cold nights nicely. This lodge is going to be my favorite place to stay on my next trip.

The cabin was quiet, well insulated, and had a comfortable bed and hot water that came through quickly. Each one has a gas fireplace that switches itself on and off. The kitchen was stocked with pretty much everything, from pans and utensils to dish soap, cups, and paper towels. The rooms are well furnished and decorated, and reasonably priced. The owners are a big family of 13 and incredibly nice. I also loved their way of speaking and word choices, which reminded me of the 1800s. Just remember this isn’t a housekeeping cabin: at checkout, put used towels in the bin under the sink, leave the bed roughly neat, and vacuum the floor. I’d recommend staying here in the June Lake area.

The cabin was small, but every bit of space was useful, and the kitchen had pots, pans, dishes, and cups. Bring your own cooking spices. It was very clean, and our spot beside the creek and forest felt private. The whole place was quiet, too. The family who owns the cabins were friendly and helpful, so we felt at ease right away. It’s conveniently located between Mammoth and Yosemite, near lots of great hikes and other places to see. We had an amazing stay, and you can tell they care about making guests comfortable. I like supporting small family businesses.

The owner was welcoming and pleasant when I met them at check-in, and suggested places to check out. I’d happily stay here again, though I wish we could’ve stayed longer. The place was much cleaner than I expected and wasn’t overpriced like a lot of nearby accommodations. For what we paid, we got a kitchen, full-size living room, two bedrooms, a deck with tables and chairs, and a grill. At Airbnb, we’d have paid two or three times as much. There were trash bins in every room, and plenty of towels, softer than what I’ve had at chain hotels. We even had more towels than guests in our group.
