We’ve been coming back to The Haven in June Lake for years because it has such a family-friendly feel. The cabins are tidy and clean, and each has a kitchen with just about everything you need to cook or enjoy a glass of wine on the deck. There are two BBQs and plenty of seating out there, with nice views of the mountains and June Lake. You can walk to June Lake and the fishing spots, and Gull Lake and the other lakes are only a little farther away.

We loved our four-night stay at The Haven in October 2015. Our cottage felt warm, clean, practical, and full of charm, like a home away from home. The kitchen had what we needed to cook for the week, and the wifi was strong the whole time. Service was great from arrival to checkout. The woman at the counter was so friendly and checked in often to see if we needed anything. The one small drawback was having just one mirror, in the bathroom, which made mornings tricky for four of us. The location is hard to beat. We walked to the shops on the main street, the general store, Tiger Bar, Trout Town Joe, and June Lake Brewing. Both Gull and June Lake Marina were also within walking distance. Gull’s Marina has an awesome park if you have little ones. With the hospitality and well-loved charm, we’ll definitely come back next time we’re in the area.

We fell for the area quickly and can’t wait to return. The studio was perfect for my boyfriend and me, with its own kitchen, and the price felt more than reasonable for the location. It was quiet, close to everything in June Lake village, and about 30 minutes from Yosemite’s eastern entrance or two hours from Yosemite Valley. One of the coolest places I’ve stayed.

This little apartment-style guest place is sunny and cute, with lovely hosts, a comfy bed, lake views, a gas fireplace, and a fully stocked kitchen. The bathroom has been renovated, and there’s a jacuzzi. Big windows, a private little courtyard with seating, and a warm, charming feel made it really welcoming. You can walk to town and the lake in minutes. There’s cable and a DVD player, too. They’d even turned on the heater before we arrived, left ice in the tray, stocked the fridge, and provided all the utensils. If you’re going to Yosemite, staying in June adds only 15 minutes to the 120 turnoff. Lee Vining doesn’t have as much as June Lake, which has some nice places. Highly recommend. I spend most of the year on the road, and this is one of the best.

The cottages arranged around a shared courtyard make for an unusual setup that works well for several families vacationing together. The owners are helpful and friendly. On very cold nights, though, the heater isn’t enough, and you have to leave the water running all night so the pipes won’t freeze. The wifi is terrible.
