The cook and general manager were kind and helpful, and I’ll definitely come back on my next visit. I ate here a couple of times during my stay, and both meals were above par. One of the best burgers I’ve had came with great crispy fries, and the beef stew type special was mouthwatering and seasoned just right. The bar and restaurant have a clean, quaint atmosphere, with beautiful views of the mountains and harbor.

I live in Juneau and come here often, and I know the owners personally. They’re some of the hardest working people I’ve met. The food is amazing, especially the Korean menu, and I particularly love the lunch burgers. And they’re scrumptious. The harbor view is spectacular in every season. When you’re in town, you can take a short walk to the museum, the beautifully presented new whale sculpture, and downtown Juneau. Walk down to the harbor and meet the women and men who put that seafood on the table. I recommend the Gahlbi, and don’t miss a cold Alaskan beer with a window view. If you get the chance to visit our wonderful city, I recommend staying here.

The rooms were cozy and really nice. Mine had a jacuzzi, which I’d never had in a room before. I loved sitting in the hot tub with champagne and a movie. The restaurant and room both have stunning views, and the food was absolutely delicious. The BW Seafood Pot is a must have, along with the King Crab leg and Mushroom Swiss Burger. The staff were really friendly and extremely nice once you get to know them, and the service was excellent. Some negative reviewers seem spoiled and eager to complain about tiny things. I’d definitely stay here on my next visit. Phenomenal, and it deserves five stars!

I’ve spent a couple of weeks in a jacuzzi room and absolutely love it. For an affordable hotel, this is the best around. It’s comfortable and has a homey feel. The restaurant and bar are beautiful, with a cruise ship theme, lots of lights and decor, and a stunning view of the bay. The food is the most amazing I’ve ever had, with great quality and polite service. The hotel is understaffed, which leads to bad reviews about things like nobody being at the front desk. The staff work so hard. One of the owners literally covers everything around the clock, from bartending and cooking to housekeeping and the front desk. Cut them some slack and enjoy your stay!

I spent four nights here in August and enjoyed it very much. The Breakwater is handy for museums and bus stops, and the views were fantastic. The restaurant was very good, and I loved the snack room. Penny, you’re still the BEST!!!!
