My dad is handicapped, and as soon as we arrived the concierge showed us the room they’d chosen and asked if it would work for us. The staff were warm and accommodating. They lit the fireplace and offered us a free log for the one in our room. We were hungry, so they offered to make dinner. I ordered fish and chips and had no idea what I was in for, the slab of fried fish must have been over a foot long. I washed it down with a fantastic locally brewed winter warmer our server recommended, then sat by the fire and called it a night. I highly recommend this place.

The area around the hotel is nice, but being right off the highway means there’s no adventuring on your own. Parking was convenient, and I appreciated having 312 on tap as a Chicagoan. The onsite restaurant does stop serving food fairly early in the evening. Even so, the rooms were small, the beds uncomfortable, and the temperature control seemed fake. All in all, a negative stay, and I wouldn’t come back.

The room was a good size, but it wasn’t child friendly. We had our 2 1/2 yr old with us, and there was no inside door lock, so he could get out. We moved the love seat in front of the door when we went to bed. We also couldn’t get the plug to work to give him a bath. And whatever freshener they use in the rooms was way too overpowering.

Dinner was great, but I wouldn’t go back. The room was really big, yet there was no housekeeping service, no room service, and no breakfast on weekends, so I had to go out or order online. I only felt like I was at a hotel when I went to the restaurant for dinner. It wasn’t a bad experience, but I paid for the biggest room in the hotel and still didn’t feel like I got the hotel experience I expected. The lack of room service was very, very bad.

The staff, from the front desk to housekeeping, were so warm and friendly. My fiance and I wanted a day away from the kiddos since we don’t get much alone time. We got ski packages for him while I stayed at the inn and got pampered. We tried dinner there too, and it was delicious, though I’d suggest lowering the prices on some items. I’d definitely recommend this place and will book again soon. We’re also looking at celebrating our marriage here on the property next April.
