Outrigger Kaanapali Beach Resort

We spent a week at the Outrigger for our 25th anniversary, and my wife was already saying on the flight home that she wants to stay here again. The staff were absolutely outstanding, every one of them. Our partial ocean view room felt more like a full view, and it was clean and spacious, with plenty of outlets and USB ports. The location is perfect for walking to local attractions, and the sunsets every evening were breathtaking. We had no trouble with the pool smelling odd or feeling too small, despite what other reviewers have said. Thanks to the Outrigger for making the anniversary so memorable.

The lanyard at the departure ceremony was a thoughtful touch, and daily room service with fresh towels was excellent. We especially liked the banana bread from the restaurant near the lobby. The courtyard was beautiful and welcoming, and the easy access to Kaanapali Beach was a big plus. We truly enjoyed our stay.

The staff were great while we were there, and went above and beyond after checkout. I accidentally left my AirPods in the room. When I called after realizing, they found them and mailed them to me the next day. I really appreciate the help from housekeeping and the manager, big mahalo to them! My family had a great stay in an updated room at a great beachfront location.

The location is great, and the room stewards were amazing and so friendly. The pool, though, was dirty and smelled a little like sewage. Reef-friendly sunscreen is available free by the pool, but when we asked the front desk and pool towel attendant, both said it was only for purchase. Nobody seemed to know about this “secret” amenity. Bring an empty bottle and fill it up. Hawai’i will fine you if you are not using reef-friendly products.
