Club Wyndham Kona

The outdoor spaces make smart use of the location, and everything is well maintained. Staff are super. The setting is beautiful, though the rooms feel older than at other resorts we've visited.

We mostly used the room as a jumping-off point since there's so much to see on the island. The balcony faced the ocean, though there wasn't an ocean view, and we could see the mountain and catch partial sunsets. This was our second stay, and I'd come back again. The rooms were clean and had what we needed. The kitchen was stocked for making breakfast each day. There's no direct beach access, which makes things a little tricky, but most places, including the beach, are within walking distance, a mile or more. There's also a trolley bus, so getting around isn't too bad.

The suites were great, with comfy beds and showers I'd rate 9/10. There are two pools and lots of room to hang out on the property. It's also easy to walk into town for shopping or to one of the local beaches. Just know it's members only.

The quiet, relaxed setting was a lovely part of my six-day stay at Club Wyndham Kona resort. I liked starting the morning with a walk around the property in the fresh air, and the ocean is close enough for you to feel the breeze. It's a good base for trying local food, too. I drove to nearby farms for papayas, honey, handmade soaps, and Kona coffee. You can taste what the soil does, even simple salads feel special. I'd happily return.
