Homewood Suites by Hilton Irvine Spectrum Lake Forest

The full kitchen and great lighting made the room feel like a home away from home. The staff were wonderful, and the hotel doesn't skimp on the amenities. We couldn't be happier with our stay. Thanks to Homewood Suites and the team. One hundred stars!

There was plenty of room for three adults, with a kitchen, microwave, fridge, and coffee and tea makers. My son and I are very allergic to dust, but this place didn't set off our allergies. It felt comfortable and would work well for families or a longer stay. We'd come back.

I had to cancel because of a medical emergency, and I first tried to reach the front desk by chat and phone several days before the reservation. Nobody answered. When someone finally picked up after several minutes, she said they'd charge one night's stay as the cancellation fee. The front desk was not helpful at all. Breakfast was also really poor compared with other Homewood Suites. Complaining didn't help, either. It's a new hotel, but overrated, and I won't be back.

For $20 a day, parking felt like an unnecessary charge when there was plenty of it. The surroundings were mostly housing and businesses, with little to see or do unless you drove a long way. It wasn't a good area for walking or biking, and the views weren't inspiring. Traffic could be heard from the rooms, and doors slamming would wake you because there was no white noise to cover it. The hotel felt gloomy and in need of an update. The breakfast was prefab and not as good as at some other Homewoods. The pillows need replacing, and both they and the mattress felt like many people had slept on them. The room decor and grounds were underwhelming for a California hotel. In my opinion, this place is overrated.
