Salmon Catcher Lodge

The meals were fantastic, with locally sourced food, and Gina and Brian were attentive to my husband’s dietary restrictions. They worked so hard to make sure everything was taken care of. Manndi also did an excellent job organizing the trip and sending us each day’s itinerary. The place was spotless and so well kept, from the comfy beds to the grounds. The pictures really don’t do it justice, ha! Gloria and her husband were amazing hosts and have clearly put a lot of work into making this place special. It’s run by three or four hardworking families, and the whole experience was just wow. We’ll be back next year with more friends!

We brought home plenty of fish, and the guides were helpful and really good at what they do. Every time we went out, we were able to catch our limit. The service was great too. We honestly can’t think of anything they could have done better. One of the best vacations we’ve ever taken.

My dad, son, and nephew went in August and had a fantastic time. They said the staff and fishing crew were all great, and they came home with an unbelievable amount of fish. The plane trip to see the bears was awesome too. I’d definitely recommend the lodge.

We went to Ninilchik on day two for a halibut charter, and the captain and deckhand got us all to our limit within a few hours. The next day we’d planned to explore on our own, but after enjoying the fishing so much, we asked about going again. Manddi quickly offered either another guided drift boat trip or our original plan. We were too tired for an early start, so we used extra gear from the lodge and fished on our own, catching two more salmon. On our first day, Aren guided us on a drift boat on the Kasilof. We were pretty new to fishing, but Aren kept it fun and made sure we each had a chance to catch salmon. The drive from Anchorage was incredible, with plenty to see along the way, including bald eagles and mountain goats. Justin and Gloria have built something special at Salmon Catcher Lodge. The staff were amazing, and we felt like part of the family. The kitchen staff and food were great, and they went out of their way to accommodate one person’s dietary preferences. After long days fishing, the spa and sauna were a real treat. As the trip planner, I spent countless hours comparing prices, accommodations, and reviews. Salmon Catcher Lodge had some of the best pricing I found and delivered a top-tier experience that lived up to the hype and then exceeded our expectations. This was a boys’ trip, but I’ll definitely come back with my wife. Thanks to Justin, Gloria, their family, and the whole Salmon Catcher Lodge crew for making our first Alaska trip one we’ll remember forever!
