Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Kalispell - Glacier National Park Gateway

I stayed here last year and had a great experience with the staff, so I was surprised by how much the service had declined. At check-in, a woman with blue hair told me my dog was too big and that we couldn’t stay. I explained it was Friday night and finding another room could be difficult, and that I’d stayed here last year and at the Livingston location three days earlier without a problem. She said I wouldn’t be charged, but didn’t offer much help. When I called the CHOICE HOTELS number she gave me, customer service could see my location history and pet deposit and agreed with me. They suggested contacting the on-site manager, who was the same woman and again said nothing could be done. We found a room for nearly the same price in a much better location. I wouldn’t recommend staying at other CHOICE HOTELS.

The staff were welcoming and helpful, and I felt comfortable, warm, and well fed here. Breakfast is free and has a good source of fiber. It’s easy to walk downtown, and there’s a fun arcade just five minutes away for the kids. This place is a hidden gem, and I had a great stay.

They cancelled our paid room and tried to pin it on hotels.com. We have a recording of them discussing other staff members in front of clients. They offered no help, then threatened to blacklist us for being rude, even though they didn’t seem to care that we had nowhere to stay. I book hundreds of rooms through hotels and have never been treated this way. The staff were the most unprofessional I’ve ever encountered. DO NOT BOOK HERE.

We were there for a week. The service was great, and the coffee was always hot. Breakfast is just cereal and muffins, and the little coffee pots in the rooms were cute. The laundry room was out of order, so we couldn’t wash our clothes, but that was okay.
