The bus access is convenient, and you can meet locals selling tacos from their homes. But a few hours before I arrived, one of the co-hosts messaged to say they were overbooked because of a system “glitch.” The co-hosts seemed young and were expected to manage a place with 38 people. It didn’t seem like a one-off, since someone else ran into the same problem the next night. We both ended up sleeping on the couch on separate nights. The showers didn’t look regularly cleaned, and you have to keep asking for toilet paper because there’s no supply set out. There are 38 other people sharing the property. Avoid it.

The new co-hosts are really nice and friendly. I’d stayed here before, and under the new management the place was super clean and smelled good. Towels were available on request, and they had professional cleaners and strict quiet hours, so we could sleep without drama like at other hostels. I made friends with one of the co-hosts, got to try a kickboxing class for free, and went hiking one Sunday with a group from the hostel. I love the new management.

I won’t be coming back. It wasn’t what I expected, and I agree with the previous reviewer that other hostels are much more accommodating.
