Kalispell Hilltop Inn

It’s a clean, tidy motel and check-in and checkout were easy, but they use so much Febreze on the bed that after lying there for about ten minutes, my hair smelled of perfume, my throat hurt, and I had a headache. If you react to perfumes or deodorizers, this place isn’t for you. I hoped bringing my own pillow would get me through the night. After dinner, the owner called. She didn’t ask how to improve our stay, but spent about five minutes defending the use of deodorizers, then asked twice if we wanted to check out and go somewhere else. It was 9 pm. I’ve never felt less welcome, and I don’t know how she thought that call would help this review.

I was headed to the Flat Head area for work and found hotels were really overpriced. The cheapest one I found was $300.00, which seemed outrageous, even knowing it’s a resort area. My neighbor told me about the Hill Top Inn, so I called about rates and availability. I had to leave a message, but a kind woman called back promptly. They had an affordable room, so I booked and canceled the $300.00 reservation. The place looked neat and tidy when I arrived, and the room was cozy, comfortable, and homey. The air conditioner was already on, which you don’t usually get. I normally hang the do not disturb sign because I don’t need room service. The next morning, she called after finding the sign on the ground to check whether it was mine and ask if I wanted service. That’s customer service. I’ll stay here whenever I’m in the Flat Head area. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this comfortable Kalispell Hill Top Inn. If you need a place, book here now.

A really cute, clean motor lodge, family run and easy to deal with. The rooms have their own heat and A/C controls, plus microwaves, fridges, and modern TVs. Bathrooms have been newly renovated, and parking is free right outside your door. It fills up fast during the season.

Other places were charging ridiculously high prices for a one-night stay, so I was hesitant but gave this one a try. We’re pretty picky, and I felt reassured as soon as we walked into the neat, clean-smelling lobby. It was well maintained, and the room was clean too. You can tell management cares. The neighborhood isn’t fancy, but we weren’t expecting a resort. We liked the chairs outside and the separate sink area away from the shower and toilet. The beds and pillows were comfortable. There was a refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, large bath towels, free WiFi, and a TV. Ours was a nonsmoking, no-pet room. Make a reservation ahead of time. We’d stay again if we were in the area.
