The room service chocolate cake and chicken pesto pizza made for a great late-night treat, and the $25 breakfast credit was handy too. I especially liked the French Vanilla Cappuccino. We also had a good time at D’Nile Bar, with festive Valentine’s drinks, friendly bartenders, patio seating, and plenty of Jenga, plus the shuttle was easy to use and added to the fun. We came to Chateau Avalon from the Platte City area for a three-night Valentine’s Day and first anniversary getaway. It felt like a real escape without a long drive, and the price seemed worth it for the romantic boutique feel. Tanger Outlets and the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art were close by. The updated check-in area felt luxurious, and the music in the hallways and Valentine’s Day balloons at the desk were sweet touches. Brett was kind and quick to help when the jacuzzi jets in our Venetian Palace suite didn’t work. He showed us another room and made the move easy. We liked the replacement suite even more, especially the marble-surround tub, working jets, and upgraded king bed. Our room was quiet, spotless, and comfortable. Housekeeping refreshed it daily, the shower stayed hot with great pressure, and even our parking lot view included Beaumont Fountain lit up at night. “Chateau 2.0” made our first real adventure together memorable. Thanks to the staff for making a busy weekend feel special. We’d recommend it for an anniversary, Valentine’s Day, birthday, or other celebration. 💕

We booked a couples massage and found it relaxing and top-notch. The hostess at the desk also gave us a quick look at a few vacant rooms for a future visit, which helped us plan. Our Cast Away Suite was such a blast, like having our own private island adventure. The themed rooms are creative and immersive, and the staff were friendly. The bartender was especially nice and made our evenings even better. This was easily the best hotel experience we’ve had. It felt like much more than an ordinary stay, and we’ll cherish the memories. We can’t wait to return and would recommend it to anyone after something special.

We’ve stayed in almost every room at least once, but we keep choosing the Hemmingway because we love its layout. We come back at least once a year, and Chateau Avalon’s staff are always great and the rooms are consistently clean.

Blake at the bar made some of the best drinks we’ve had in a long time, and happy hour was very affordable. We also liked the comfortable bed, the large jacuzzi tub that fit my husband and me, the pretty outdoor patio, and the delicious breakfast. We stayed in the Mayan Rainforest. The room was neat, but the details didn’t feel worth what we paid. There were water stains on ceiling tiles in our room and throughout the hallways. The carpet was stained, and an exposed tack strip cut my husband’s foot. Dust had built up on the fake leaves, the sheets were stained, and the comforter was so worn that the fabric had balled up. The robes were thin in places and looked heavily used, so we didn’t want to use them. There were gnats everywhere, and ladders propped by the entrance took away from the luxury feel. We enjoyed the stay, but for the price of one night, we think the rooms could be improved.

We had a fun stay over Valentine’s weekend, though our room was unusual in a good way only for the first night. We woke up the second night to water pouring in from the room above. The staff handled it well, and the manager moved us to a new room, which turned out to be my dream room. My husband and I stayed three nights and had a good time.
