I’ve just moved in and am really happy with my choice. The building is pretty inside and out, and it’s so quiet here, which is a big plus for me. Amber was amazing throughout the move-in process, answering questions in detail and explaining everything. She made it feel personal too: the welcome-home packet had both my name and my dog’s name on it, and she left notes, including one about using the garage tag.

We’ve been at 909 for almost two years and recently had to switch units partway through our lease. Amber was patient, helpful, and kept us updated throughout the transfer. Our situation wasn’t a standard unit change, but it went as smoothly as it could have. Thanks for reading.

I’m loving my new home. Amber and Meghan were understanding and kept in touch while I completed the application from another state over the holidays. I really appreciated how focused they were on helping the client.

The west-facing view and rooftop garden are two things I especially love here. I’ve been living here since July 2019, and the 1 Bed B1 floor plan was just right for what I needed in downtown KC, both for size and price. The amenities are great, the staff are friendly, and the front desk is staffed 24/7. They’re upgrading the gym, lobby, and lounge areas, which were already nice. Smart lights and a smart thermostat are good extras, and the gym is good enough that I don’t need a separate membership. No complaints, and I’m happy to keep living here.

The remodel, the views, and the hope that Worcester management might start treating residents like people rather than commodities are why I’m giving two stars. I loved living at 909 Walnut for three years, until the new management started cutting corners. It’s gone from a Class A luxury property to a Class C building with luxury pricing. They got rid of 24/7 security and replaced it with a part-time concierge who, to me, is just a warm body at a desk. Residents needing help are told to call 911, and people who want actual concierge service should look elsewhere. Worcester says the guards were only providing concierge service, but they did much more: they knew residents by name, greeted them, opened doors, used fobs to let approved visitors and delivery people up, brought newspapers before residents woke up, secured packages, and introduced neighbors with common interests. They also patrolled the floors hourly, kept us safe, handled alarms quickly, checked empty units, and dealt with trespassers. They responded to fire alarms in five minutes without evacuations. They alerted management to faulty elevators and garage doors, found smoldering wires and leaking pipes in public areas, cleared stray raccoons from stairwells and the garage, and assessed after-hours maintenance emergencies before contacting the formerly on-site maintenance worker. That included ongoing flooding from sinks, toilets, and washing machine drains. Now the new smart-home features often fail and leave the front and side doors unlocked. Packages sit unattended in public areas because security is gone and concierge coverage is only part-time. Routine maintenance is neglected, with drains constantly gurgling and flies in upper-floor units, and lower-level apartments flooding with what’s often black goo. Fire alarms go off frequently, leading to evacuations down more than 30 flights of unlit stairs. Management leases empty units to a Chicago company that rents them online to strangers who aren’t screened, and their hourly “friends.” Appliances are old, windows are dirty, and residents are unhappy. Long-term and new residents are leaving as quickly as they can, often trying to break contracts after floods or after finding strangers in the halls. The leasing office has constant staff turnover, with people quitting because they can’t tolerate the management and its policies. We used to have a front office that knew everyone’s name and neighbors who made a caring community. Now it feels like residents are treated as a business commodity.
