The customer service has been pretty good. Ms. Sonya, Karma, and the other staff have been amazing, but the stay itself has been only okay. We checked in on 11/24 after coming back because the rooms were still being cleaned. The first room had no working heat. Maintenance told me to call again when the front desk opened at 9am or 10, so we froze all night. They replaced the heating AC unit the next morning, but lady beetles started coming out of it one after another. We asked to move, and the next room's AC also didn't work. The office moved us again, and that room had roaches running around like they owned the place. After another move, the room was mostly okay, though I still saw a few roaches. That's unacceptable for what they're charging. I've stayed in less attractive places without seeing a single bug. There was also a stinky smell throughout the hallway. If you want peace and quiet, look elsewhere. On the first night, the person above us paced and sometimes stomped all night. On 11/30, somebody clapped loudly and made other noises, and neither my son nor I got any sleep.
The staff were nice, but my best friend found roaches in her room during her stay this past weekend. Other family members who rented rooms there also found bugs. They need pest control every month until the infestation is gone. This place could get great reviews if they took care of the bugs.
I ended up booking a nicer hotel for what was supposed to be my final night, and the refund trouble made the whole thing worse. After my $495 booking, they offered just $100 back. A woman told me I should leave a 5-star review because they had made things right. I didn't write one, and my refund was never issued. It started with a last-minute decision that cost me a week in hell. On my second night, someone knocked on my door claiming I hadn't paid, even though I'd reserved a week. When I needed help at the desk, there was usually no staff around, and I had to yell to get the attention of whoever was standing behind the open desk door. They'd say their shift was about to end. Only one of my key cards worked. There was also someone who looked homeless sleeping in the hallway, and the laundry room took quarters even though there was no quarter machine on-site. The TV never worked properly. Instead of fixing it, they moved me to a room where the TV wouldn't turn on at all. A third room had plumbing issues, so they moved me to a fourth, where the refrigerator was covered in rust. Roaches came out of the sink, and there was a dead one on the floor, with more in the hallway. This is the worst hotel I've ever seen. Anyone who gave it five stars was probably conned like I was.
I won't stay here again. Our room was small, gross, and nothing like the photos. The first room they gave us hadn't been cleaned and had moldy food in it. The keys kept giving us problems, and the office, elevator, hallway, and even our room all smelled of MJ. There were sketchy people carrying bottles of alcohol, and at check-in the front desk warned us not to leave anything unattended for even a second or it would be gone. People were constantly fighting or blasting music in the middle of the night. I tried contacting corporate but got no response. It cost too much for absolutely nothing.
The two women at the front desk were great, but nothing else about our stay was decent. The first floor smelled like fish, the elevator like someone had peed and pooped themselves, and the fourth floor like dog poop everywhere. It was so foul we wore masks whenever we left the room. Roaches came out from every direction: behind and under the bed, on top of it, throughout the bathroom, behind the mirror and door. The towels were supposed to be white, but they were brown and black. Our keys stopped working, and after four replacements the staff still couldn't open the door. They had to change the door battery, leaving us locked out for hours. We booked for a birthday and the Chiefs game, but the place was so disgusting that other people were checking out in the middle of the night for the same reasons. I was promised a refund and never got it. I disputed it with my bank, and they sided with the hotel. It's close to the stadium, but absolutely not worth it. Worst hotel stay I've ever had.
