Kevin’s breakfasts were a highlight of my time in Kansas City. He’s an outstanding chef, and the plates showed real creativity along with flavors and a style he’s clearly developed and tested. I looked forward to going down each morning. His made-from-scratch blueberry muffin is incredibly good, and I’d feel bad for anyone who stayed without trying it or the food. I’ve left KC, but I’ll be back in April for three weeks, and I’ll definitely be there for breakfast again. The blue design runs from outside the hotel through the lobby, elevators, hallways, and rooms. It ties the place together really well without feeling overwhelming. The room was spacious, thoughtfully laid out, very clean, and had plenty of space for everything. The bed felt nearly new and we slept great. The front desk ladies were kind and helpful, and lovely to chat with. I was surprised by how much I liked the whole place. If I’d had time before or after my business in KC, I’d have stayed again. Definitely recommend. There’s a bar restaurant across the parking lot, but we didn’t eat there, so I can’t speak to the food or whether it was available.

Kevin was the star for us, cooking wonderfully and making us feel like family. The staff as a whole were amazing. It was quiet, clean, and felt like home.

Kevin at the onsite restaurant makes the best French toast. It needs no syrup, just the fresh fruit. That’s one reason this has become our hotel of choice whenever we return to Kansas City. The Hotel Westport has never given me a bad stay. Its dark furnishings and rooms mix an eclectic look with an almost Edgar Allan Poe feel, while the management team stays friendly and engaged with guests. After enough hotel stays, you expect the same thing everywhere, but this place really changed that expectation.

Kevin, the head cook, was really friendly, and breakfast was on point. I ate there both mornings. The hotel was clean and felt like home, and the staff were what impressed me most, so friendly and welcoming. I’d definitely recommend it.
