The pool is permanently closed, which is a letdown, though the hotel’s handy for the highway and airport. Breakfast was average and typical, nothing fancy but acceptable. I booked through a third party and checking in was easy. The room was okay overall, clean and respectable, even if it had clearly seen better days: rust above the doorframe and a drawer by the sink still needing repair. I also found several bugs around the sink, something the staff had disclosed and that comes up in other reviews. When I asked for another pillow, one man was difficult at first but eventually helped us. It was 9:30pm, so that was understandable. The quality was fine, and I’d stay again if needed.
After leaving a dirty, run-down hotel for this one, we were relieved by how clean it was. We liked the decor and colors, and the room was spacious, spotless, and had a beautiful view. The bed was comfortable, and we really enjoyed our stay. We did call the front desk for more pillows and a sheet for the sleeper sofa. The host sounded a little agitated, though I’m sure he was busy, and said he’d call once he’d helped the customers ahead of us. We never heard back and got neither the pillows nor the sheet. Even so, we’d definitely stay here again and recommend it.
Some improvements are obvious, but other things still badly need attention, so maybe the place is a work in progress. The bathtub and shower had been re-tiled, and the tile was nice and competently done, but somehow they left out a soap dish. It seems minor until you don’t have one. They also appeared understaffed. They charged my card $15 for each day I was there, and I still haven’t figured out what that was for.
The room flooring was old and damaged, and it creaked so badly as we walked that it sounded like a 100+ year old house. I felt bad for the people below us since we started early and finished late. Our sheets were stained and ripped, the towels were stained, there were spiders in the room, and the air conditioning was weak. The shower water pooled up to our ankles. The actual pool is permanently closed. The printer downstairs was marked broken when we went to print something for our flight. The first room they gave us was on the first floor at the end of the hall, next to an outside emergency-exit-only door that had been propped open. That made me uneasy, so we asked to move to the second floor. Staff were extremely rude at check-in, as if we were a burden. It felt like all they cared about was profit, and there was no customer service. The hotel shuttle did pick us up, but the pickup directions weren’t clear. I tried calling to tell them our gate, but the only worker was also driving the shuttle. Its door was broken and hard to open, and the inside had broken armrests and wasn’t suited for passengers with luggage. When we checked out this morning, the front desk person was taking someone to the airport. We waited 10minutes, then had to leave our keys behind the desk so we could return our rental car on time. With nobody watching the desk, I didn’t feel safe at this hotel. This was my first stay at Quality Inn, and I won’t recommend the brand to anyone.
I only wanted to leave and find somewhere else, and eventually got a room at a local hotel near the airport for the same $160. I’d booked this place a couple of weeks ahead because Taylor Swift was playing during my dates. The first room was beside a renovation area, dark and dingy, with black mold, a box spring cover caked with what looked like months of hair and dust, and towels that looked used. There were stains in a kitchen drawer, blood on the mattress, and old lip gloss and a cucumber that looked close to expiring in the fridge. I have pictures of all of it. The front desk person was great and moved me to another room, but that one was only a little better and still very dirty, so I asked for a refund. Since I booked through Expedia, I had to handle it through them. At first I was told the hotel would charge a “fee” equal to the entire room price. Later the manager or owner said they would refund me. With the concert going on, they could rebook the room for nearly double what I paid. No issue with that, I just wanted out.
