I slept really well here. The beds were soft and comfortable, and those pillows were almost too soft. The heater and AC worked so well I wished I could take them home. My room also had a mini fridge, microwave, large cable TV, and internet. There are lots of parking spots and cameras, and security was friendly and made me feel welcome and safe. The area felt secure to me, and I had no problem walking to the McDonald's down the street. It’s right by the freeway, and about 4.6 miles from good coffee shops, a nice BBQ place, Mexican food, and some cool bars. Outlaws was a bit loud for me and seemed like a spot for cougars. I’d skip the nearby Waffle House because the service was bad and the food was mid. Hawaiian Bros or Tays would be better, or get delivery. There’s also a grocery store within a reasonable distance. The free breakfast is available, though I never tried it, and there’s a pool for summer. I didn’t notice a do not disturb sign for the doors, and housekeeping kept making it known it was time for them to come by. They’re remodeling right now, but my room was quiet. Outside, there was a smell from the nearby plant, and trains passed by, though I only noticed those as possible issues outdoors at night, not inside. This is an industrial part of North KC, so that makes sense. Service was great. Danielle was friendly, the California Indian guy was helpful, sorry I didn’t catch your name, and I hope things go well for you in KC, bro. The Black woman on third shift was fun, I loved her personality, and the Mexican woman I met my first night was very chill. There’s real promise here. It seems like a good place for either a short or long stay. I wouldn’t call it family friendly because I don’t know what there is for kids to do, though a family was staying there and the kids seemed to enjoy it.

The front desk was ready to help me find my meeting the next day, and the price was on track. My room had all new furniture and a new bath. Great hotel, and I got my business done on my next business trip.

The location makes it easy to get to Kansas City attractions, restaurants, and entertainment, but it still felt quiet and peaceful at night. I found the rooms spacious, spotless, and thoughtfully laid out, with a cozy bed that made it easy to relax after being out in the city. The staff were really friendly and attentive, ready with local suggestions and helpful at check-in. The fitness center was well kept, and the lounge was inviting. I’d happily stay again and recommend it to anyone visiting Kansas City.

The room was immaculate, and everything looked new and modern. Mine had a kitchenette, though I don’t know if they’re all set up the same way. We’d arrived early in the morning from out of state on short notice, and the staff got us into a room quickly, including an early check-in so we could shower and rest right away. Everyone I dealt with was pleasant and helpful. I’d definitely stay here again if I come back.

This was a pleasant stay, and I’d recommend it, though the hotel looks a little scary when you drive up. It’s in an industrial area without homes in sight, and the only restaurants nearby are McDonald's and Waffle House. Still, it was easy to get downtown, to the highways, and to the baseball and football stadiums, and the area was quiet. The hotel seems to have changed brands a few times: our key said Choice Hotels, Google Maps called it Quality Inn, and the sign said Red Lion by Sonesta. Check-in was easy, and the man at the desk was friendly and helpful. The woman was kind of mean to him when he asked her for help. Our room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the AC worked well with controls we could adjust ourselves. There were both USB and USB-C plugs. The bathroom had one sink and a tub-shower. Water pressure was good and it got hot when we needed it. The counter had plenty of room for our things, but there was only a double hook on the door. Once our toiletry bags were hanging there, we had to put towels in the closet. They gave us two towels, which were tiny and thin, though I’m sure we could have asked for more. Breakfast was adequate. I wish they’d had oatmeal, but the area was kept clean and stocked, and the coffee wasn’t terrible. The outdoor pool looked inviting, but we didn’t use it. There’s no elevator, so ask for a first-floor room when booking if stairs or carrying luggage upstairs would be a problem. It wasn’t an issue for us.
