The location was great, and our mostly empty parking lot meant we got a really good spot. The rooms were clean, and we had an amazing view toward the mall. At night we could see fireworks for 30 miles, more than I’ve ever seen. The check-in receptionist at 4:30 pm on December 31, 2025, and the person working checkout on New Year’s morning were both excellent. The noise is what keeps me from wanting to stay in hotels. We heard kids running through the halls at 6 am, people banging around, and every conversation. For the same price I could rent an AIRBNB house with no noise, better pillows and beds, much more space, extra bathrooms, and a garage. Hotels feel outdated and cost way too much. To compete with AIRBNB, they’d need to be $50 all in, or $75 for a really nice suite. This was a last-minute one-night trip, and I didn’t want to tie up an AIRBNB for just one night. Next time I will. Unless circumstances require it, I’m done staying in hotels.

After a stressful drive with tornado watches, Rome was so sweet and accommodating. He did a few things that made us feel looked after, and that turned the stay around. It’s been a rough time for the three of us, so it meant a lot. Thank you!

The location was ideal and the hotel looked nice and clean, but we barely slept. At bedtime the air conditioner was so loud it sounded like a commercial generator in the room, and even earplugs couldn’t block it. A bright light also came on now and then during the night, and we still don’t know what it was. Paying about $175 for one night and getting that kind of sleep was deeply frustrating and disappointing.

I haven’t stayed yet, but I’m looking forward to the service on November 15-16. I’m sure the staff will be excellent, and I’ll get upgraded to the best suite. A complimentary bottle of whisky would be a nice bonus!

The Courtyard Houston Katy Mills is beautifully kept, and it was extremely clean everywhere, from the lobby to the room. I felt comfortable right away. The staff were warm, professional, and accommodating every time I interacted with them, and seemed to care about the guest experience. The stay exceeded my expectations. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Katy for work or leisure, and I’ll be back on my next trip.
