Platinum Inn Katy

The area was nice, and the guy at the front desk was friendly. I booked a room with a jacuzzi and was pleased at first, until I spotted hair in it. There were burn marks on the covers, mold in the bathroom, and a dead bug on the floor. Then I saw a roach run across the room.

The desk staff could have been warmer. One older gentleman gave my daughter and me some really mean looks, and it made us uncomfortable, though maybe it was just his age. Even so, I’d stay here again. The room was lovely, clean, and smelled great; it was a smoking room, but we couldn’t tell. Room service was better than I expected, and the simple breakfast was appreciated.

The staff treated me really nicely, though I saw an older woman made to wait outside. When she came back in, they told her there were no rooms left. She started yelling, “You’re letting her stay!” The hotel also doesn’t take pets, which is tough for anyone who loves them, especially after I saw a roach. The place is clean, but some rooms are run down, and people sit on the stairs and in the walkways. I’d rate the hotel itself a 6.5. Breakfast was just Debbie cake muffins, cereal, and coffee. That’s not breakfast, it’s hoopla.

The fast Wi-Fi was a big plus, and the location near my Training Center worked great. Perfect is an understatement. I’d recommend it to travelers.
