Molokai Shores 121

We had a lovely family stay in room #317 at Molokai Shores. The beds were comfortable, the view was beautiful, the grounds were well kept, the BBQ was great, and the location was awesome. We love Molokai and will be back. Aloha! One safety issue for future guests: the living room ceiling fan is too close to the spiral staircase leading up to the loft. My husband stopped on the stairs to talk to us below and hit his hand on the fan. It cut the upper part of his wrist and the area above his thumb. We told the property manager. The photos of the injury were taken a week later, so be careful going up those stairs.

The location is fantastic, with lovely ocean views and even whale watching from the property. Town is only a quick two-minute drive away, so food and supplies are easy to get. The room was just okay and badly needed updating. Some kitchen items were missing, and the layout was awkward enough that we kept bumping our heads on a poorly placed cabinet. Since each unit has a different owner, the experience can vary quite a bit. It's a great setting, but the rooms are hit or miss.

The grassy area and beach behind the property are lovely, and the kitchen was well equipped, which matters in Molokai with so few restaurant options. I’m very picky about cleanliness, and the place met my standards. The location and decor were great, and it was a very pleasant stay. The only odd thing was getting an email saying checkout was at 11:00 when it was actually at 10:00. Still, that was a minor inconvenience, and I'd give it five stars.

The outdoor areas were nicely kept, and it's not too far from the airport. Everyone was friendly, and there's a laundromat. The beds were too small for us, though, and the roosters kept us awake from 1:30 a.m. until 5:30 a.m.
