Clarion Inn and Suites Convention Center Kearney

The kids had fun in the indoor pool, a throwback to the motel’s past. Our room had nice finishes and a very comfortable main bed, and the breakfast that came with our vouchers was good. The staff work hard for guests and the motel is a constant work in progress. It’s huge and was clearly a staple in its day, but shows its age, and the parking lot could use some weed removal. Renovating a place this big is expensive, and the price reflects that.

The room was nice, with a comfortable bed, fridge, and microwave. It could have been a little cleaner, though it wasn’t too bad. The hallways needed vacuuming, and the pool looked nice, but we didn’t use it. We were just passing through on our way home from vacation and needed a place to sleep. The biggest drawback was no elevator. That wasn’t a problem for me or others, but it was for my mother, who has really bad knees. I should have researched more before booking. The woman at the front desk was friendly and offered a $15 breakfast coupon for the morning.

The staff were super nice, and the bed was crazy comfortable. The shower had the best water pressure I’ve ever experienced. But the air conditioner leaked all over the floor, and the in-room coffee maker was broken. There wasn’t any complimentary coffee in the lobby either. We skipped breakfast. The whole place was quirky, like five different kinds of places from different decades all together. Decent for the price, and I’d probably return for a one-night stay.

The rooms are awful, the hallways dirty, and there were bugs in the pool. It floods when it rains, the air doesn’t work in most rooms, and some rooms have mold. We switched rooms a few times, then finally left in the middle of the night because the fridge buzzed so loudly we couldn’t sleep. Each room had a different problem. The manager only moved us and didn’t help with anything else. They refused a refund or any other way to make it right. The rooms also had an odor, so I had to buy spray to make it bearable. It was super frustrating.
