We had a great three-night stay at the bark eater inn, and loved all the winter activities nearby over our long weekend. It's easy to reach and well placed for exploring all things ADK. The rooms were good and there was plenty of space at the inn. The hosts were very nice and full of helpful information, and the included breakfast was amazing, all fresh and really local. We'd totally come back.

The trails on the property were a highlight. We skied and snowshoed there during our long weekend at the Sentinel Cabin, and would definitely stay again. The house was surrounded by natural beauty, private but easy to get to, and well appointed and stocked. It was spacious, clean, and comfortable.

Our Birch Room had six windows and wonderful views across fields and mountains. After days out hiking and cross-country skiing, the spotless guest room was a lovely place to relax. We also spent two hours exploring the hiking and skiing trails on the property and loved them. Breakfast each morning was a highlight before heading out. The farmhouse has been carefully restored and decorated with real style, and Meghan and Tyler are warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable about the area. I can imagine spending cold winter days by the well-stocked wood stove in the sitting room. The Bark Eater is a special place in the heart of the Adirondack High Peaks region. We'll be back.

Clear evenings here are something else for stargazing, and you can head out walking, running, or gravel biking right from the front door along lovely, lightly traveled dirt roads. The Barkeater Inn is also within a ten-minute drive of lots of hiking, skiing, and mountain biking trails. The inn and cabins are beautiful and homey, everything was clean, and the owners were attentive to every question or need. I highly recommend adding breakfast if you stay at the inn. Each morning we had a fresh, delicious farm-to-table meal, with things like pancakes, bacon, Adirondack Maple syrup, frittata, and yogurt. The property is beautiful and well located, and the innkeepers go out of their way to make your stay memorable.

The weather wasn't very good, but we still had a wonderful stay. Nothing fancy, just good quality, especially the food. Thanks, Meghan and Tyler. Hope to see you again.
