The Fossil Butte Motel

I’ve traveled a lot this year, and this motel beats most of the big-name hotels. The rooms have what you need, and I especially liked the big nightstands with outlets and USB charging. They’re also cleaned daily, which I haven’t seen in a long time. The woman at the desk works hard and was great. I’d happily stay here again. Everything was great.

We needed somewhere to rest during a really long drive up from the south. Big-name hotels were outrageously priced and had poor reviews, so we tried this place, and I’m glad we did. It was the cleanest room I’ve stayed in for years, 10/10. The hot shower was nice, Hulu live was available, and parking was right outside. The king bed was just right and comfortable. I’d absolutely stay here again if I’m in the area.

The room itself was clean, roomy, and comfortable. The confusing part was the Expedia billing: Expedia charged one amount, but the hotel showed us a different bill. After looking into it, we learned the hotel’s figure was what Expedia allowed them to charge after its fees. If you book through Expedia, asking the hotel for a bill may just cause confusion. One other note, finding dinner in Kemmerer on a Sunday is tough, since everything but Pizza hut is closed.

We stayed here about a month and a half ago and were told our deposit was refundable. I’ve called several times since, but they said they didn’t know where it was and couldn’t check on it. They also wouldn’t let us speak with the manager. We still haven’t gotten the deposit back. I’d give this place zero stars if I could.
