Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Roseburg

Even with major changes and renovation plans underway, every time I’ve stayed I’ve gotten an affordable, clean room with all the essentials. The service is superb, and I’ll be back. My company probably will too. There were a couple of loud people nearby, but that’s not something I’d blame the business for. Lovely place for families and friends.

The highway noise was hard to sleep through. Traffic next door was understandable, but the lack of soundproofing made the room extremely loud all night, and I slept poorly even with noise-canceling headphones on. Then the next day I saw a bank charge nearly three times the room cost. When I called, they said there had been “a smell of smoke” in the room. That’s completely false. I’ve never smoked, and cigarette smoke gives me headaches. I left the room in excellent condition; staff said nothing when I checked out. Charging that much after checkout without notice, proof, or any prior communication is unacceptable. It feels like they’re taking customers’ money with a made-up excuse. Future guests should check their bank statements carefully.

The front desk staff gave amazing service, and breakfast had a wide range of options. There’s also an indoor pool and hot tub. I’d give the rooms four stars because I don’t think they’ve been updated since the brand change. The property used to be a Sleep Inn, though everything else is still nice. Kid you not, five-star service.

It was nasty. Under our beds we found old butter and POOP. The sheets had crumbs, there was grey hair in the shower, and nothing looked vacuumed. There wasn’t even a full roll of toilet paper, so I went to Walmart and bought sheets of my own. Pretty sad. The crew doesn’t care about cleaning, and the “manager” at the front desk this morning was rude for no reason, saying there was nothing they could do to help. We won’t stay here again, and neither will any of our family visiting relatives in Roseburg.
