Days Inn by Wyndham Monmouth Junction/S Brunswick/Princeton

I booked an 11-day stay and found no microwave or refrigerator in the room. It smelled strongly of smoke, the comforter had a burn mark, and there was melted wax all over the desk chair. The rooms are small too. Worst place I’ve stayed in my 30-year career.

I was too exhausted to ask for another room at the time. It was clean enough to sleep in, but there was black mold in the shower, no room phone, and no microwave. I’d come back only if I had to. Days Inn has changed over the years, and changes at quite a few locations leave a lot to be desired.

The rooms themselves aren’t awful, but the service is. On my second stay here, I found there was no manager on duty during the hours people might need one. The manager was only there from noon to 3, while checkout is at 10 and check-in at 3. I came back anyway, and won’t make that mistake again. It takes a lot for me to give a place one star. During the three days I stayed, there was no maid service and no facial tissues. I had to “upgrade” to get a refrigerator and microwave, which seems ridiculous for a hotel. The lighting was poor and the toilet wouldn’t flush properly. The week before, the door lock was acting up and there were other minor issues, but they were bearable. The difference between those two weeks was night and day. I’d planned to stay here another four or five weeks for a work project, but now I have to rethink that.

The receptionist was nice, but the manager was rude and customer service was lacking. The rooms were tiny and dirty, and the chair had so many holes I could see right through it. This is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I’d never come back.
