Hotel Vicenza

The front desk man was so kind over Memorial Day weekend. Our room was clean, and I didn’t see any bugs or lice. It was a really nice stay, with very good service. I’d definitely come back.

I feel safe here with my daughter, and I can see my car in the parking lot from our room. The other guests seem to be mostly long-term residents, but they keep to themselves and nobody has bothered us. Staff at the desk are friendly and helpful, and housekeeping has been nice too. There are stray cats living in the woods nearby, so they’re often around the lot. Some residents feed them. I’m not a cat person, but none of them bothered me during my stay of over a month. It’s not a five-star resort, but it has a homey feel, and feeling safe matters most to me.

I really wish I could give this place five stars, and the staff were friendly, but I have to be honest. The room was a decent size, yet there were dirty panties left in it when I arrived. The towels also looked like they might have just been folded and put back without being washed. I took pictures of the underwear and the small roach problem. The fire alarm was the last straw. It went off around 3:30 a.m. for no apparent reason, after I’d finally fallen asleep, and I had to be up at 5. The TV receiver cutting out after a few hours was another annoyance, especially when I needed a little background sound to sleep. There are homeless people staying behind the hotel. I feel for anyone without a home, but that also affected my impression of the place.

It stays very quiet during the day, and there’s plenty of parking, though the lot needs repaving. The rooms are clean, but the bedspreads have holes. There are several cats around the property, and guests feed them every day, so they’re likely to stay.
