Red Roof Inn Kenly - I-95

For about 60 bucks on I-95, this has to be one of the best values around. I've traveled all over the country and usually avoid hotels under $140, but I didn't see a single bug here. The room could use paint, but it was clean, the showers were hot, and everything worked. There was a fridge, microwave, and nice TV, plus plenty of parking for cars and trucks. They don't charge extra for pets, either. I've never stopped here before, but I drive up and down 95 every month and will definitely come back.

There's plenty of parking, even for big trucks, and the room itself was pleasant. The location is convenient to 95 and Truckstop Rd, and it looks great from the highway. Up close, though, the property's exterior was disappointing and could be much better. Seeing the empty pool used for junk storage was a letdown. I hope it gets the investment it needs to shine.

The owners make me feel like family, and that's the best part of staying here. I've been back several times, and they remember who I am and which room I like. They clearly care about people. The rooms are peaceful despite being alongside the highway, with clean, comfortable beds and pillows, a desk for work, and handy in-room coffee and tea. My pet is welcome at no extra charge, which is rare. There are good dining options right off the highway, and I feel safe walking my pet around the hotel after dark. It's a great value, too.

The room was really nice for an extended stay, but it was only okay for me. The listing clearly shows bathtubs, yet they were set up so you couldn't take a bath. I also didn't like the morning front desk worker following me through the window and watching my every move when I went to get a drink from the vending machine. They only provide two towels, and they're very thin.
