We asked for a non-smoking room when we booked online, but the first room smelled so strongly of smoke and cigarettes that we could barely breathe. My parents and I were furious. After a long wait while they tried to find the reservation, the staff had first attempted to charge us again, then added another $5 because there were three of us instead of two in a room with two beds. The manager moved us next door. It still smelled of smoke, though less strongly, and staff said they'd air it out and put in fresheners. We went to explore the city. Three hours later, our key wouldn't work. Staff came to try it and found someone else in the room. They'd given it away. They then offered the original room again, which we refused, or a second-floor suite for $10 extra. We refused that too and demanded a refund. They were rude throughout and asked why we hadn't left our things in the room. Good thing we hadn't, since they might have been gone when we returned. Don't book here. They don't know how to run the place, and the staff were rude the whole time.

I only needed four hours of sleep, and even that was spent fully dressed with my hood and shoes on. The place was gross, with a lasting stink and used towels. It looked, smelled, and felt like the plague. I should've slept in my truck. The owner at reception was nasty and greedy. A double room cost over $100, and it wasn't worth half that. They're lucky to have such a great spot. Nasty owner, nasty hotel.

I paid cash for two nights, but when I checked the furniture before settling in, I found bed bugs everywhere: one on the pillow, some on the headboard, and others crawling on the walls. I ran downstairs and demanded my money back. The owner said I'd have to wait until morning and kept insisting I stay, offering a room on the bottom floor. His suite was still gross. I said I didn't want to stay, and that if I did, I'd need a smoking room. Another room had terrible lighting and smelled awful. When I checked behind the headboard, a big piece came right off, and there were more bugs. I showed him and said the place was infested. He apologized but returned only half my money. I went to Super 8, where they told me they don't take anyone coming from this hotel. I explained I hadn't sat on any of the furniture, and they worked with me and gave me a room. I had to go back the next morning for the rest of my money. This place is disgusting and needs to be shut down. It's infested.

I only gave it one star because that was required to post. If I could, I'd give the place negative ten. The booking website didn't say this was a motel, and my payment was nonrefundable, so I went ahead to check in. The manager and his girlfriend or wife then tried to charge me more. I kept showing them that I'd already paid the reservation fee and the listed room price. They claimed the extra was for a reservation fee and tax, but my booking showed I'd paid for everything and owed nothing more. Keep your booking receipts, since the managers may try to overcharge you.

For $60, I guess you get what you get, but the room wasn't very good and lacked comfort, including extra pillows. My smoke detector was off, so thank goodness for fire. There were no hangers for my jacket, and the front desk charges for extra items like toothbrushes, condoms, and extra soap, $2 each. I probably wouldn't stay again.
