DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Grand Key - Key West

The rooms have been renovated since our last visit four years ago, and we found them comfortable. The hotel is still quiet and relaxing, and the shuttle into town is handy when parking in Key West is difficult. I do miss the old breakfast, though. It used to feel more like Key West, with cold drinks on ice, made-to-order omelets, and more variety. Now it’s more basic, like breakfast at lots of hotels, which was disappointing with prices having gone up. As a Hilton Gold member who stays at many Hilton properties, I notice those details, and I miss the place’s former character. The concierge was very helpful: they booked ocean activities, golf carts, and restaurant reservations, shared local tips and restaurant coupons, and arranged golf cart pickup and drop-off right at the hotel. That made getting around much easier.

After a long day of delays at EYW airport, Joseph at the front desk really turned my night around. He was cheerful, enthusiastic, and helpful with everything I needed, even an extra toothbrush and toothpaste. The airport shuttle arrived quickly, and the person on the phone was friendly too. Beautiful rooms, pool, and fitness center. Five stars, highly recommend!

The king suite was clean and roomy, though the bathtub was much smaller than larger tubs. The hallways and lobby were clean too, and the pool and poolside bar were lovely. Check-in was easy, and the courteous staff let us in a little early. There’s a hotel shuttle to downtown Key West, and the front desk can give you the schedule. I think you’ll like this place. Take a morning walk down Jimmy Buffet Mem. Hwy for the sunrise.

I really enjoyed my stay. The grounds were nice, the location was convenient, and the shuttle to both the airport and downtown was useful. My only issue was that the cleaning crew started sandblasting outside my balcony at 9:30 on Friday morning. I hadn’t expected to see men in a lift right outside, though thankfully I was already up and dressed.
