The location is fantastic, the rooms are lovely and charming, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, especially Adam. I'm giving five stars, though I probably won't return, apart from maybe stopping in for a drink. We're over 40 and the noise was too much for us. Music blared until 4 in the morning, and sleeping was basically impossible even with earplugs. From 7 a.m. it got loud again with early risers. I've never felt so exhausted after a hotel stay. If you love partying, this place is an easy recommendation, but anyone hoping for some quiet should know what they're getting into.

My husband and I have stayed here for years and wouldn't choose anywhere else. We love the back bar and pool, and there are several bars with great entertainment. The front balcony has a great view up and down Duval. You're right in the heart of Key West, with gay nightlife and restaurants all around. Staff and service are excellent, and the friendly front desk and bar teams make it easy to meet people. We've made lifelong friends here from around the world. Breakfast items and drinks, from hot coffee to juice, are included. Highly recommended as one of the best gay guest houses in the area.

The limited staff I spoke with were excellent. My complaint is for the owners, not the employees. I work hard for my money, and on vacation I don't want to spend time fixing things or changing plans. The price doesn't feel fair for what you get. Parking was a hassle: there was nowhere to pull up and check in, and the gravel lots flood. It was $50 a night unless you went upstairs to request a coupon for the meter, something no one told me about. You need a new coupon each day. My room felt like a gym room, and two Glade plug-ins in about 150 square feet created such a strong odor that I could barely breathe or stay there without dizziness or nausea. Unplugging them and airing it out didn't help. The deck door had tinted glass but no shade, so bring an eye cover if sunlight would keep you awake. The pool wasn't inviting, and the wood and framing looked like they might collapse. When wood can't hold nails anymore, it needs replacing. The dealbreaker was that there were more women than men in the 'clothing optional' M4M resort area. After driving over four hours, I unpacked and then packed again, checked out within 90 minutes, and was lucky to find a much nicer place for a few dollars less. The move was stressful. The hotel kept 50% of my payment and wouldn't refund more; I'm disputing it now. I didn't even have to pay for parking at the other resort. I'm glad there was last-minute availability, or I could have been stuck in the Keys without anywhere to stay. Best of luck if you try it.

I loved having a kitchenette for late-night snacks, a comfy queen bed, and a private patio overlooking the courtyard pool. The room was a cozy hideaway, and accessible rooms are available. The pool was my favorite part, with palms overhead and a waterfall to cool off in. For live music or a more intimate drink, the downstairs bar was a nice option. Although the hotel is right on Duval Street, its lush courtyard felt peaceful. Bars, galleries, and attractions were only steps away. I arrived after the office closed, but the evening bartender greeted me, handed over my keys, and showed me where to go. Check-in was seamless. Continental breakfast starts at 8 AM, with fruit, bagels, pastries, and strong coffee. Wi-Fi was free, and the small gym was a bonus. Paid overnight parking is right next to the hotel. On the weekend, I also found free street parking by the courthouse without any trouble. Steven at the front desk was friendly, quick with recommendations, and clearly wanted to make my stay good. His tips on events and the best catamarian cruise made a difference. New Orleans House balances the buzz of Duval with a relaxed courtyard, and I can't wait to return.
