We wanted to stay in Old Town and get around on foot, and The Garden House was perfectly placed for that. We walked everywhere. I even spent hours exploring alone and felt completely comfortable. BOs Fish Wagon, Funky Rooster Coffee & Wine Bar and a local gym were just around the corner, which worked out well for us. The inn had a peaceful feel, with shady spots and places to sit in the sun. Mornings were especially nice for coffee and a little downtime. Sammy made delicious Belgian waffles, and the coffee was hot and just right. The heated pool was genuinely warm and a great place to relax between activities. Our room had a king bed, dresser, two bedside tables, a mini fridge and a place to hang a few clothes. The TV didn’t offer streaming, but that didn’t matter since we mostly went to bed at night. The bathroom and shower were quite small. I knew that from my research and packed accordingly, though shaving my legs in the shower was a bit of a challenge, lol. Still manageable. I’d stay here again for the friendly hospitality and handy location.

We had everything we needed for our Key West Half Marathon trip. The start line was only a two-minute walk away, and Sammy even found a bicycle for my husband to ride alongside and support me during the race. Breakfast was tasty, the beds were comfortable, and the place was very clean. Parking was easy, and the staff were friendly and helpful. You can walk to just about anywhere from here.

The location is fantastic, the bed was really comfortable, and the host was friendly. But the room was in awful shape, and the listing reviews didn’t give us the full picture. The WC seat was disgusting, the bathroom window was dirty, there was mould in the shower and the soap dish was rusty. The door wouldn’t close, there was a hole in the light fitting, and the furniture looked tired and grubby. The sheet didn’t fit the bed, the protector was stained, and the fridge was dirty and iced up. Even the cheap curtains and bedside lamps were dusty. They seem to spend more time on the garden than maintaining the rooms, and standards have slipped badly. It’s a shame, because this place could be a gem.

Sammy was a wonderful host and took care of everything we needed. The included breakfast was a nice way to save on eating out, and Duval is just a few minutes away on foot. A great choice if you want to stay close to the action in Key West.

The setting had such a sexy vibe in the loveliest way, from the beautiful landscaping to the location. We enjoyed sunning on the rooftop and having breakfast beside the jetted pool. Dawson, Sammy and Barbara did everything they could to make our stay even more delightful.
