Charleston Kiawah Island/Andell Inn

The location made it easy to get to the beach, shops, and restaurants, and parking was right by the entrance. The outdoor seating and pool are lovely, though the pool isn't large enough for lap swimming. This is one of the best non-resort Marriott properties we've stayed at, and it feels more like a local boutique hotel. Management and staff deserve credit for that. Every staff interaction over our five days was helpful and pleasant. Our room was spacious and very clean, with updated furniture and electronics. The kitchenette had a full-size fridge, stovetop, prep space, sink, and convenient dishes and utensils. Check-in was smooth, with no surprises, and our room was ready on time. Breakfast is among the best free meals we've had at a Marriott. There were real eggs, several meats, biscuits and gravy, fruit and vegetables, plus a smaller selection of pastries and bread. There are good options for people who are diabetic or gluten-free. I'd gladly stay here again.

After stays at countless hotels around the world as a Lifetime Marriott Titanium Elite member, The Andell Inn is my favorite in the entire Marriott portfolio. The employees are what make it stand out, especially Marisa, the Assistant General Manager. Her warmth, care with details, and commitment to excellent service are remarkable. She creates memorable experiences, not just manages a hotel. If you want luxury hospitality at a Marriott, I highly recommend The Andell Inn.

The heated pool is the real deal, and breakfast comes with the room. The hot food was delicious, especially the biscuits and gravy, and they serve mimosas too. The hotel is clean, nicely designed, and reasonably priced, with everything looking brand new. My main complaints: there's no hot tub, and food service doesn't start until 4 p.m. After traveling, we wanted food and drinks by the pool. Uber Eats took over an hour.

The people here made our stay. My wife and I have been to plenty of hotels, but the southern hospitality was on another level. Every interaction felt personal and thoughtful, never canned, and you can tell the staff care about their work. The accommodations were excellent, with boutique shopping and really good food close by, all part of an authentic Charleston experience. We’re already planning to come back. It’s a great way to enjoy Charleston without the tourist-trap stuff.
