Quality Inn & Suites Kilgore-Longview

We only needed somewhere to sleep and shower before getting back on the road, so this was more of a pit stop. We rented the suite, which had one large bed. The mattress was soft enough but still firm, and the pillows were comfortable. The linens were clean, and the thick comforter was comfy. The shower was okay, though I wanted hotter water. It was warm, not hot. Towels were clean, and there was shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion. There is a small, kid-friendly pool, but we didn't use it because it was cold in early February. The breakfast included bagels, bread, sweet muffins, cereal, coffee, juice, and self-serve waffles. I usually just have coffee and maybe toast or a bagel at hotel breakfasts. Then I found a roach running over the bread, bagels, and muffins in their container. I told the front desk attendant. He took the container to the desk area, removed the roach or roaches, then brought it back with the same food inside. I couldn't believe it. I have videos if anyone wants to see them.

We stayed a few weeks for work, and the hotel smelled amazing. The rooms were great, with nice hardwood floors and no carpet. The bathrooms are brand new, and it seems they remodeled the whole place.

The rooms are large, and the hotel is well maintained. There's a nice outdoor pool, and breakfast has eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal, and more. The front desk staff were welcoming and friendly.

The whole hotel smelled horrible when we walked in, and the front desk lady was really rude. She said she could refuse our stay because I hadn't included my one-year-old. I've never had that happen before. Once we finally got to the room, it smelled like cigarettes, and there were bedbugs and ants. Filthiest hotel ever.
