We felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome once we arrived. The owner barely spoke to us and seemed angry or frustrated. In the morning she was on the stairs, but turned her head to avoid us. It felt like such a lack of respect. The dogs barked at every noise, and the owner barked at them. Before the stay, she was also very hard to reach. She didn’t answer our email or call back after we left a voicemail. It’s a shame for the town, since everyone else we met there was very nice, and the food at the longfellow restaurant was excellent. I don’t understand the five-star reviews. I’m not sure I’ll ever stay at a B&B again.

The old farmhouse is on a working farm, and it creaks and gets noisy at times. The downstairs clock seems to chime whenever it likes. We knew that going in, since it was all explained, and it didn’t bother us. Those sounds actually added to the atmosphere. I especially loved watching the geese wander around in the morning. The setting was a real change from the desert I’m used to, with trees turning color all around and the mountains only a short drive away. The owner was welcoming and quick to respond, even when I texted late at night because I’d forgotten the door code. Breakfast was great every morning, and her suggestions for places to go and things to do were right on. We came away with lots of great pictures and memories. It was a great stay, and I’d definitely come back. Thanks for having us!

Valarie and Gary are wonderful, hardworking people, and the whole stay was fantastic. The room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was spectacular, and the shared spaces felt super cozy. There are great extras, including NFL Sunday Ticket and Gary’s perfect fires. The bar and restaurant on site were fantastic, too. Karaoke on our first night might have been the trip’s highlight. A+ stay!

The B&B ended up being the best part of our trip for a wedding. I’d driven four hours with a cake I’d made the day before, so I was stressed, but Valerie and her daughter were kind and welcoming even though we checked in late. The bedroom was gorgeous, and the view from the window was breathtaking. I loved the highland cow decor and the cozy shared living room. We got food at the Silly Goose on site, and that pizza was amazing. The staff were so fun to talk with, like people we’d known forever. Breakfast was incredible and fresh. We had a great chat with the hosts and met their dogs while listening to Ghostbusters and other Halloween throwbacks. That was my perfect morning. I can’t wait to visit again. Thanks for everything!

Val was a great host. My friend and I stayed in the downstairs room with two twin beds for one night during our Sugarloaf ski trip. The mattresses were comfy and the comforters soft and fluffy, so I slept really well after a long day on the slopes. We ate at Silly Goose, the restaurant just behind the B&B, and it was both convenient and delicious. Val made us breakfast the next morning at the time we chose. We chatted over coffee and met her very friendly dogs. It was a wonderful stay. If I book another ski trip at Sufarloaf, I know where I’m staying. Thanks, Val!
