What makes the place feel so special is how it sits in the landscape. The architect avoided harsh right angles, and the soft path lighting and beige-and-pink colors make it feel welcoming. Around the huge pool, there's a unique, almost whimsical mural. If you're old enough, you can picture Robert Goulet, Marilyn Monroe, Lucille Ball, Jack Lemmon, Dean Martin, and other stars relaxing here with highballs, martinis, or drinks with little umbrellas, away from Hollywood's demands. It's historic Route 66, at 1400 East Andy Devine Ave Kingman Arizona. The place isn't rustic, idyllic, garish, gaudy, or brash. It's quiet and peaceful, and gives you a break from the hurried demands of this century and the feeling that some corporation is always reaching into your pocket. I was treated like a guest, even though I'm a bit of an oddity, like a dedicated female athlete who has to remember to sway instead of march. It's major cool. The price is right and the stay is comfortable. Give yourself a weekend or a week, and you'll be glad you did. I recommend it!

The front desk manager looked after us well and even stayed up until 2 a.m. for our arrival. He really went above and beyond. See you on our next trip.

My son left his wallet in the nightstand. We called about half an hour after leaving, and the owner went to the room, found it, took our name and address, and said he'd mail it as soon as he could. He was already wonderful earlier, when I pulled in with a 16-foot box truck towing my car and accidentally stopped in the wrong spot. I'm 68 and started crying, but the owner came out, backed my truck down, found a perfect space right outside our room, and gave us a great downstairs room. They were so friendly and helpful. I can't say enough about these people. Great place, I recommend it.

We've been here a little over a week after being displaced from the Arcadia lodge, and they've taken such wonderful care of our family. The housekeepers and management are wonderful. It's clean and quiet. I'd give it 56 stars if I could. I recommend staying here if you're passing through Kingman.
