Tri-State Inn

The staff were welcoming, and the beds were comfortable. For an affordable, no-frills place, it could have been good value, but the bathroom wasn't clean enough. The towels and washcloths stank, and every surface was dirty or stained. There was a whole face's worth of facial hair, or at least I hope it was facial hair, spread across the sink and counter. I wouldn't stay again unless I had to. In that case, I'd check in early enough to make sure they gave me a clean room before bed.

Mouse poop on the bed, mold all over the bathroom walls, and old food crumbs in the drawers. The TV wouldn't work either. We couldn't shower or walk around barefoot, and all of us slept fully dressed. There's too much else to list. It wasn't worth $80. We should've slept in the car.

The front staff were friendly and accommodating, and the price was cheap, but the rooms were in awful shape. The linens seemed clean while the carpet was stained everywhere. They charged an $8 pet fee, though clearly no extra cleaning had been done in the room. The bedside table was missing its drawers. People were drinking and smoking pot on the sidewalk, and when I mentioned it to ask for a room change, the staff member just shrugged and said they're always there in October to November. It's also very close to the main road, so there's a lot of noise. If you can't spend more than fifty bucks, I guess this is where you'd have to come, but I wouldn't recommend it.

We needed a place for a night or two after bad weather and New Years 2018 meant the other hotels were booked. This one was convenient for a quick stop before driving to Vegas NV in the morning. The beds were clean and made, and the heater worked fine. The shower and tub were a bit dirty but usable. Some room updates and pictures on the wall would be awesome.
