Americourt Extended Stays

The room had bugs smashed across the walls, and the floor was bubbled up. Roaches crawled over me all night and even got into my drink, so I barely slept. The shower didn't work, and the tub faucet had been ripped off. The microwave was stuck in a drawer with nowhere to plug it in. There were no lamps, just the bathroom light for the whole room. The Roku TV depended on the hotel's internet, which wasn't working, so there was nothing to watch.

My older aunt and uncle came to visit from SC during race weekend, when prices around here had tripled. I'd heard rumors this wasn't a good place to stay, but we had no choice. At first they claimed we didn't have a reservation, then after a bit of arguing they suddenly found it. The room was supposed to have been freshly remodeled. The pictures can show what it was actually like. Stay somewhere else if you can.

I didn't feel safe there, with people hanging around outside the rooms. The room I saw smelled bad, had a bed on metal pegs, and curtains that looked like they'd been up for a hundred years, with the backing coming off. Nobody was in the office when I walked in, and there was an odd smell there too. The place clearly hasn't been updated in years. I won't stay there.

There were more bugs inside than outside, and a plant was growing right out of the sink drain. The main room had no real lighting, just the fixture above the sink, and I nearly got electrocuted trying to fit another bulb into it. The toilet wouldn't flush, the TV didn't work, and there was no shower curtain. A shower knob was missing, so I had to use pliers to turn on the hot water. Even though it was a non-smoking room, the walls were yellowed from years of smoke, and the carpet was so bad I wouldn't take my shoes off. It's the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Honestly, it's my girlfriend's fault we ended up here. I wish she'd been better at finding hotels.
