The room was clean, but the cigarette smoke was unbearable. I’d booked a non-smoking room, yet when the manager showed me in, the air was thick with fresh smoke, like someone was sitting there puffing away. I don’t smoke and can’t stand breathing it. I wondered whether the housekeeper had smoked after cleaning or the previous guest had just checked out. I won’t be coming back.

The second room had live roaches, worse than the first, so we left without a refund. The first room had a clogged tub, and instead of refunding us they wanted to try clearing it with a plunger. No thanks. This place was never my first choice, but we’d made do before because we hadn’t gotten a really bad room. It’s gotten even worse, and I’ll never go back. Stay away. They can keep the $60.

We switched rooms because the other hotel in town was full, and the new room had baby roaches and teenage ones too. There were roaches everywhere, including one flying around. The whole room made me itchy and gave me the heebie-jeebies. This place has gone way downhill since it first opened. Never stay here!

People were coming and going all night, and there was way too much noise.

After walking more than a mile from the train depot, I was grateful to find somewhere to stay. I was stranded in an unfamiliar town at night, and this place was a port in a storm. The room was basic, but clean.
