Holiday Inn Express & Suites Kingsville by IHG

The location is great, and the staff were really friendly. Breakfast, though free, was mediocre, and the coffee has been cold for two days. The plates and plastic utensils feel flimsy and cheap, and the bathrooms are outdated. Management could spend just a little more on the breakfast setup.

The best part is that Starbucks is in the same parking lot. The rest of the stay was frustrating. I booked a king bed, but at check-in they said all the king rooms were taken and the ones left were under construction. Our TV had no remote, and when I called, the desk made us come downstairs to pick one up. The tubs have rust, and the only ice machine is on the first floor. At breakfast, I drank milk before realizing it was very expired. I told the desk, and they removed it, but didn’t offer replacement milk. The pastries were rock-hard and there weren’t many choices. The front desk staff were super unhelpful.

I used to stay here without any problems, but I won’t anymore. Check room 314 for bed bugs. I had about 70 bites on my thigh and didn’t notice them until I was driving home.

The beds were comfortable, and breakfast and the breakfast staff were very good. The rooms could have used more cleaning, and we had to ask for linens for the sofa bed because none were there. Still, it was a pretty good stay, and we’d come back.
