The one thing in its favor is being right across from some great skiing. Otherwise, I’d give it one star. The condo was dirty: there were dishes left in the dishwasher, dirty ones in the cupboards, and a used coffee filter in the maker. It felt untouched for 30 years and was falling apart. A strong, awful musty smell in the hallway seeped into the unit. The TV was very old with no streaming options, the Wi-Fi was unreliable and slow, and only one of the kitchen’s four lights worked. Parking was a mess. My pass expired at 11 when I checked out, so I had to get up early on my last morning to move the car before general parking filled up. The garage entrance has a bar at 6'6", though most spaces looked like they could fit taller vehicles. Someone had parked a vehicle over 7' by scraping its roof box on the bars. My car was a reasonable 6' 9" with its roof box, but wouldn’t fit, so I parked outside and had to dig it out in the morning. That wipes out any benefit of staying in Kirkwood. For dinner there are only two choices. One requires a drive, so I can’t comment on it; the other is an overpriced, crowded, noisy bar with bad food. It might suit some people, but it wasn’t good for traveling as a family. You’d be better off staying in South Lake Tahoe and driving over in the morning. The accommodations there are much better and cost substantially less.
