Hyatt Place Knoxville Downtown

We loved the location, especially being right next to the Tennessee theatre. It was easy and enjoyable to walk around Gay Street and Market Square, and the rooftop lounge had a nice atmosphere, drinks, and service. The rooms were pristine and comfortable. Front desk staff were helpful with dinner recommendations, and the valets were kind and polite.

Breakfast was good, and the oatmeal toppings were the best we’ve seen at a Hyatt. The bed was comfortable, though the shower pressure was weak. There’s valet parking, a nice fitness center, and both a rooftop bar and a lobby bar. Our floor smelled like fireworks. They’d had them the day before we arrived, so it may have been leftover smell.

We’ve stayed here 4-5 times and keep coming back. The location is great, right by market square, Tennessee theater, and Bijou theater. The rooms are lovely and breakfast is good. If you’d rather skip valet, there’s convenient public parking just behind the hotel, and it’s reasonable and free on weekends.

The personal attention here made our wedding night even more special. When we came back to get ready, there was Prosecco on ice in the room with a handwritten card. Later, the night front desk staff knew who we were, and the valet congratulated us when we got our car the next morning. At check-in, they’d noticed my husband carrying my wedding dress and asked if we were getting married. When we said yes, she got excited and immediately looked into upgrading us. We got a huge room with a great view over Gay Street, plus free breakfast the next morning. We’re local to the greater Knoxville area and have already decided to come back whenever we want a downtown staycation. It’s been a long time since we’ve had service that felt this personal.
