Comfort Suites Kyle

I was in Kyle for work and checked into my room at midnight. When I returned around 6 PM, I found that housekeeping had taken several drinks from my fridge and my designer Valentino cologne was gone from the nightstand. The manager said they saw the employee on camera, but has kept putting off the issue, won't return my calls, and hasn't done anything to make it right or discipline the employee. The service from both the staff and managers was absolutely terrible. If you want to keep your valuables, I'd skip this hotel.

There were some nice people here, but I got very little sleep. My room was across from the elevator and beside the ice machine, even though I booked nine months ahead. A motorcycle with open pipes kept revving under the entrance awning, and around 1 a.m. a car with a coffee-can muffler idled and revved in the lot for about an hour. The room design felt dated, and there was noise everywhere. I booked four days and three nights, then checked out the day I arrived and was still charged for all the nights. I'll avoid Kyle on my next Texas trip.

The breakfast lady was amazing and worked really hard, though the choices were pretty weak. The cereal was all plain, boring stuff like Cheerios and Raisin Bran, and they need more options. In my room, the comforter had lots of holes and rips, with red stains and what might have been mold. There was hair in the bathroom and a lot of dust in the AC vents. The room also kept smelling like Italian food, even when I came back at 1 a.m., so I bought some Febreze. At least the staff gave me extra blankets after I mentioned the torn comforter.

I had a little situation to sort out that had nothing to do with the room, service, or location. Julia and Nate helped me with smiles and such a friendly attitude. I'd definitely recommend staying here.
