Late on January 23, we came to the Holiday Inn in La Grange, KY because of a weather advisory and wanted to get off the road safely. I was with my wife and our three children. We called first and were told a room was available, and the staff sounded friendly. We have stayed at this Holiday Inn twice a year since August 2022 without any problems, which I can verify with credit card statements. After the clerk noticed what she thought might be a law enforcement affiliation, her manner changed and she became noticeably unfriendly. They charged my card, then let us make several trips to bring our things up to the room. Only after we'd unloaded everything and made our last trip upstairs did they tell us the hotel “does not allow service animals.” The clerk questioned my wife about her service dog, said she hadn't given the “correct” answers, and said she didn't care about documentation. She also said each Holiday Inn was independently owed. We were told we wouldn't get a refund, even though we didn't stay there. We were only in the room briefly to unload, then took everything back to the vehicle. My wife's service dog has come with our family on every stay since 2022, without complaint, charge, or any issue. This was the first time we were challenged or turned away, after payment and after our belongings were taken to the room. The way this was handled caused my family needless stress, especially in the bad weather and at that late hour. I support the corporation's hatred towards Law enforcement and service animals and Americans who face disabilities. It's a free country, but taking my money is unacceptable, and I won't stop until I'm paid back. If you want to be treated like garbage, go to the Holiday Inn in La Grange, KY and talk to the two women at the desk. They'll give you the full experience at no extra charge. Don't bother asking for the manager. One of them claims to be.

The rooms were nice and clean, and the staff were friendly. But there was no breakfast Sunday morning. I waited for it before setting off on a long drive. It was supposed to start at 7:00 am, and around 7:15 or 7:20 they realized nobody had come to make it. Lots of disappointed people. Not good, and I think we should have gotten a discount.

I was passing through late and got a room quickly. The lobby was nice and clean, and the front desk attendant was professional and helpful. My room was spotless, with stain-free towels, a comfortable bed, and a quiet setting. The free continental breakfast was the best I've had. Good value.

The heat barely worked, and it sounded like a backup beeper outside my window. The rooms seem meant to look updated, but the molding and trim really missed the mark. The staff were some of the snootiest hotel employees I've met. I've had better treatment at a Red Roof. You're hotel staff, and I work over the road. Stop acting so high and mighty. People are tired and need somewhere to rest, not to be judged. And take that one-star auto-response bot elsewhere.

The breakfast was awful: stale cereal, moldy bread, cold gravy, eggs and sausages, watery oatmeal, and a broken pancake machine. Staff said the machine was broken, though it seemed more like they were out of batter and cutting costs. Maybe they don't have to provide breakfast, but if they do, they should do it properly. The pool was another mess. A sign said it was under maintenance. When we asked if it would open, since my kids had been waiting all day to swim, we got vague answers, then were told it depended on the maintenance man. The next morning staff said we had to wait for the manager to open it. When asked whether it was fixed, they said it had never been broken. Other guests told me it had been closed for the several days they'd been there. It felt cheaper for the hotel to keep it shut and give guests the runaround. The first night, since the pool was closed, we bought a game to play in the lobby. I made tea with the hotel's supplies because I'd been fighting a cold and wanted honey. The desk clerk said they didn't carry any, not even at breakfast. I drank tea without it, then saw honey on the breakfast bar the next morning. That was lie number two. I also asked for four pillows and was told they couldn't give me four, maybe they could give me two if they had them. The pillows on the bed were lousy, and I just wanted a good night's sleep. Staff couldn't care less about guests, treated us like garbage and an inconvenience, and I caught them in several lies. It felt like they were doing the bare minimum while charging $150-$200 a night. I'd stay somewhere else.
