I've stayed here twice while traveling, and the staff have been so welcoming and nice. The prices are very affordable, and the rooms are clean and well kept. I'd highly recommend it.

The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the room had clearly been remodeled, which was a plus. Still, it wasn't really big enough for two queen beds, with both beds pushed against the walls. The AC also fell short. Set to 65°, it ran constantly and kept the room okay, but it only cooled without blowing air. We booked to try a different hotel in town, and the website photos, especially of the pool, looked appealing. With temperatures in the 90s, a pool sounded just right. What a letdown when the clerk said the place had just changed hands and the pool was still awaiting restoration. The website said nothing about that and featured the pool prominently. We'll keep watch to see if it reopens, and maybe try again then. Maybe.

The best part of our trip was the drive. The skies and scenery were beautiful the whole way to La Junta and back, like a painting. My husband and I loved that part. The town itself felt like a ghost town, though, a place time forgot. Everywhere I went seemed rundown, dry, dirty, and uninviting, and the whole visit felt depressing, with a bit of a Stephen King or Scooby-Doo mystery-town vibe. I couldn’t find anything modern or updated, any events, much sense of community, or even a church. I kept wondering where the Walmart, Target, ice cream restaurant, or YMCA with Zumba classes were. Maybe the people who live here are stronger than me. God bless you all.

Alexis was so kind, personable, and accommodating when I booked a pet-friendly room and asked to be on the first floor. The night before our stay, we found out that weather had postponed the second day of our son's baseball games, so we called to ask about cancelling. Once we explained, they let us cancel right away, with no hassle, attitude, or fee. We’ll recommend La Junta Inn to our family and friends, and it’ll be our go-to hotel when we’re in La Junta. It’s a pleasure dealing with a business that cares about its customers. Thanks so much!

I wasn't sure what to expect walking up to my room, but opening the door was a nice surprise. It looked recently remodeled, with new furniture and cabinets and hardwood floors. You can tell the owners put money into the renovations. Thanks, La Junta Inn, for a great stay!
