The employee's later conduct is the most troubling part of this experience. She used the personal number the guest had provided during her stay to send hostile, unsolicited texts, including a picture of the guest's mugshot to intimidate and humiliate her. That had nothing to do with hotel business and raises serious concerns about how guest information is handled, staff training, and management oversight. No employee should use access to a guest's personal data to harass or intimidate them. The guest had prepaid for several nights at this Red Roof Inn in Galveston County, Texas, but had to leave after one night because of a domestic incident that brought police to the hotel. At checkout, she was clearly told she would get a refund for the unused nights. Months of follow-ups have led nowhere, with staff sending her in circles, and the refund still hasn't been issued. Screenshots and other documentation have been kept, and the issue has already been reported to corporate. Until both the refund and the employee's harassment are properly addressed, I'd strongly caution anyone thinking of staying here.

The $100 deposit was a hassle. You do get it back after leaving, but a refund to a debit or credit card can take a while if you don't have cash. Otherwise, it's a fairly clean, nice 2-3 star hotel with plenty of parking, a pool, and Jimmy's bar up front. The rooms were as advertised. I'd recommend it, though there are better options.

Red roof inn really came through when we needed help and showed up in time. The staff, from the front desk and maids to the bar crew, maintenance, and management, work together like a well-oiled machine. I happened to be there during shift change, and both front desk ladies were so friendly and accommodating. They were the stars of the show. I wish I could remember their names, but I can't right now.
