Relax Suites Extended Stay - La Mirada

The room and service were fine, but the shower faucet was a problem. The water was too hot, and turning it just a hair toward cold left barely any pressure, so I couldn’t shower. I had to let the water run for at least 45 minutes to fill the tub before I could bathe.

I was in the room for less than two minutes before I ran out. The place seemed infested with roaches, spiders, and bed bugs, and there were stains on the sheets and cobwebs from the ceiling. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years. I told the front desk how uncomfortable and disgusted I felt, but the employee wouldn’t refund me and even smiled while I explained how dirty it was. The staff showed no remorse. I’m surprised the place is still open. Don’t waste your money.

We had no top sheet, and when I went to the front desk they gave me one to put on the bed myself. I expected them to offer another room. The pictures are misleading, and I kept my socks on because I was afraid to put bare feet on the carpet. The TV remote was held together with tape, and there was graffiti in the elevator. Breakfast was oatmeal you make yourself with warm water. That night, security was trying to remove a guest who wouldn’t leave. I found out when I went to get the bath towels missing from our room, but nobody was at the desk because he was with Security. Avoid this place if it’s even still open. It should be shut down for sanitary reasons.

The price should at least come with basic cleanliness, but that wasn’t what I found here. When I arrived, the room was dusty, the chairs and sofa were stained, and the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned properly. The shower curtain smelled bad, and bugs came out of the shower from time to time. The hall was dirty and smelled, too. The elevator had scratched, dirty walls and gave me a ghetto feeling. I didn’t feel comfortable staying here. There was dog poop everywhere around the hotel. At the entrance, two security guards made it feel like I was entering a detention facility. I was really disappointed and wouldn’t recommend this place unless major improvements are made.
