We were five traveling together, and the place worked perfectly for our group. It was super clean and quiet, with very few trains passing through. We arrived by Amtrak and loved that Choo Choo Lofts was just a 300-foot walk away. It was also easy to get downtown in Lafayette, Louisiana, and walk to the Mardi Gras parades.

The loft was comfortable and looked just like the online pictures, but the yard made a poor first impression. The bushes and weeds were overgrown, the grass needed mowing and edging, and old broken or rusty children's toys were scattered around. Gardening tools were piled in front of the building. The patio and grill didn't look usable, so we didn't use them as planned. The access road was terrible and parking was limited. Inside, we found no toilet paper, dirty sheets left in the laundry room, and a broken icemaker. I also had trouble reaching anyone: I left a message on one line on arrival day and got no reply, and couldn't get through on the other line for problems. I'm glad nothing serious came up.

The inside was nice, but a lot of things were broken. Noise made it impossible to sleep: trains, people playing loud music all night, and a roofer banging on the roof until midnight. I was very unhappy and wouldn't recommend this place.

The location is great, and the interior is modern. I gave it four stars because a couple of changes could make the inside really good. It wasn't clean, the upstairs neighbors were noisy, and the owners didn't respond.

Everyone in our group was really happy with ChooChoo Lofts. The facilities were great, service was prompt, and they were very responsive.
